Scene: The church with all of Port Charles present.  Duke, Jake, Tom, Sean,
Patrick and Tony take their places near the altar.  The music begins and Bobbie
is the first to walk down the aisle and all are smiling happily because she is
doing it without her cane.  Terri is next and then Felicia and Tiffany.  Then our
little flower girl Robin enters and begins her walk, which puts a huge smile on
Duke’s face as he watches.
The Wedding March begins and all rise from the seats.  Anna and Robert enter
the back of the church arm in arm; they look at each other and then proceed
down the aisle.  Duke and Anna are staring at each other the whole time.
Robert and Anna reach Duke near the top of the step of the altar, Robert takes
Duke and Anna’s hands and joins them together.
Minister: Who gives this woman away in marriage?
Robert: I do.
Duke and Anna step up the altar as Anna turns and gives Robin her bouquet of
flowers and Robin smiles widely.  Guests sit.
Minister:   Dearly beloved we come together in the presents of God to witness
and bless the joining together of this man and this woman in Holy Matrimony.
The bond and covenant of marriage was established by God, the union of
husband and wife in heart, body, and mind is intended by God for their mutual
joy.  For the help and comfort giving to one another in prosperity and
adversity, and when it is God’s will for the procreation of children, and their
nurture and knowledge, and love of the Lord.  Therefore marriage is not to be
entered into unadvisedly or lightly but reverently, deliberately and in accordance
with the purposes it was instituted by God.  Into this holy union Duke Lavery
and Anna Devane now come to be joined.  If anyone of you can show just
cause why they should not be lawfully married, speak now or forever hold your
peace.
Silence.
Minister:  Anna, will you take this man to be you husband (Duke turns slightly
to look at Anna) to live together in the covenant of marriage.  Will you love him,
comfort him, honor and keep him in sickness and in health, and forsaking all
others, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live.
Anna: (softly) I will.
Minister: Duke, will you take this woman to be you wife (Anna turns slightly to
look at Duke) to live together in the covenant of marriage.  Will you love her,
comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health, and forsaking all
others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live.
Duke: I will.
Minister:  Will all of you witnessing these promises do all in you power to
uphold these two persons in their marriage?
All:  We do.
Minister: Can you face each other. (Duke and Anna turn to each other still
holding hands)  Duke repeat after me: In the name of God...
Duke: In the name of God...
Minister:  I, Duke take you Anna to be my wife...
Duke:  I, Duke take you Anna to be my wife...
Minister:  To have and to hold from this day forward.
Duke:  To have and to hold from this day forward...
Minister: For better, for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health.
Duke:  For better, for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health.
Minister:  To love and to cherish until we are parted by death.
Duke:  To love and to cherish until we are parted by death.  Duke continues:
Anna, I love Robin as sincerely as I love you.  You are both my very special
family.  (Robin smiles)  I like to quote some Scottish literature if I can get it
out.  (Anna smiles with tears forming in her eyes)  Our love is a circle, it has no
end.  This is my solemn vow.
Minister:  Now, Anna hold Duke's hand and repeat after me.  In the name of
God.
Anna: In the name of God.
Minister:  I, Anna take you Duke to be my husband.
Anna:  I, Anna take you Duke to be my husband.
Minister:  To have and to hold from this day forward.
Anna:  To have and to hold from this day forward.
Minister: For better, for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health.
Anna:  For better, for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health.
Minister:  To love and to cherish until we are parted by death.
Anna:  To love and to cherish until we are parted by death.  Duke, I will stay
within that circle, and I pledge you my eternal love.  That is my solemn vow.
Minister:  (Looks to Jake) The ring.
Jake takes the ring out, walks over to Duke.
Duke:  Oh, give me the ring.  (The three laugh)
Minister:  Bless O Lord this ring to be a sign of the vows this man and this
woman have bonded themselves to each other.  Duke you may place the ring
on Anna’s finger and repeat after me.  (Duke slowly places the ring on Anna’s
finger)  Anna, I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow.
Duke:  Anna, I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow...
Minister:  And with all that I am and all that I have...
Duke:  And with all that I am and all that I have... (He smiles and Anna lovingly
touches his cheek)
Minister:  I honor you in the name of God.
Duke:  I honor you in the name of God. (Anna nods her head and her eyes are
filled with tears of joy)
Minister:  Bless, O Lord, this ring to be a sign of the vows this man and this
woman have bonded themselves to each other.  Anna, you may place the ring
on Duke’s finger and repeat after me.  (Anna slowly places the ring on Duke’s
finger)  Duke, I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow...
Anna:  Duke, I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow...
Minister:  And with all that I am and all that I have...
Anna:  And with all that I am and all that I have...
Minister:  I honor you in the name of God.
Anna:  I honor you in the name of God. (They smile at each other widely)
Minister:  Now that Duke and Anna have given themselves to each other in
solemn vows, with the joining of hands, and the giving and receiving of rings, I
pronounce that they are man and wife.  In the name of the Father, the Son and
the Holy Spirit, what God has joined together, let no one put asunder.
Duke closes his eyes and bows almost in prayer.
All:  Amen
Minister:  Duke, you may kiss the bride.
Duke:  At last.
Anna and all laugh.
Duke lifts Anna's veil and they kiss each other as the bagpiper begins to play,
walking up the aisle.  Duke and Anna embrace, cheek to cheek looking on at the
bagpiper.  The bagpiper leads them down the aisle as they hold hands looking
at each other on the way down.  The ushers and bridesmaids follow.
